Why you need a Personal Trainer!

Most people, if they are honest with themselves, have felt unsatisfied with their physical and mental health. They know the cure is to get ‘in shape’ by exercising, but where should they start? The answer – a personal trainer.

Regardless of person’s fitness background, a personal trainer can help someone reach goals they never imagined possible such as fat loss, muscle hypertrophy, stress reduction, reduce health risk factor, increase muscle strength, muscle endurance, flexibility, or cardiovascular endurance. No matter how superficial or legitimate a person’s goal, a trainer is the one that can help shape these goals and makes them obtainable and successful.
A personal trainer not only shapes and improves a person’s physical body, but they also help strength their mind and spirit.  Our society is saturated with people that are stressed and depressed for various reasons – exercising can benefit them. According to a pharmaceutical drug study, Zoloft and Lexapro are the #1 anti-depressant drugs. These are also the easiest two anti-depressant drugs to stop using and the best way doctors recommend is through exercise.

No matter the person, a personal trainer can and should wear many hats to fulfill many roles. A knowledgeable personal trainer should get their client faster results and offer a wide variety of exercises at different intensities. A skilled personal trainer can train someone just about anywhere, so hire a personal trainer that you can connect with and take back your life.

  1. Personal trainers can definitively change someone’s life both physically and emotionally. They have to be able to adapt to people from different backgrounds, former athletes, elderly, children, and people who have never put a foot in a gym; which makes this profession pretty amazing and difficult at times. Personal trainer must have a goof understanding of the human body, nutrition, kinesiology, and physiology if they want to be good at what they do. Nowadays, most personal trainers have a good education background and carry certifications that make them “the experts” on what they do. The true is that personal trainers are a great resource for someone who wants to feel better and do better things in life.

  2. I personally don’t have a problem working out in the weight room. I love lifting weights! The one thing that I have trouble being motivated for is cardiovascular endurance. I know it is very beneficial for me, just for some reason I don’t like it very much. I think that most of America would agree with me on that. Having a personal trainer would be beneficial for me because they would be there to push me and motivate me to become in better shape cardio wise. If I am by myself then I have no problem skipping cardio, I just always tell myself, well I’ll just do it tomorrow or the next day. But it seems that I just keep putting it off. With a personal trainer there wouldn’t be a choice because I know cardio is incorporated in most if not every personal trainers workout regimen.

  3. I completely agree, most Americans are very unmotivated and typically lazy when it comes to physical activity. If it seems hard they won’t do it. Personal trainers help set goals, make working out fun and entertaining, and place their clients on a path to physical fitness and an all-around better life. My only objection is that I believe the criteria to be a personal trainer is not extensive as it should be. A PT holds their clients lives in their hands, considering that fact I believe that PTs should have a formal education into their field such as a college degree. The author of this blog Mr. Hill is a perfect example of this. He has a Bachelor Degree in his field and is currently earning his Masters in order to better serve his clients. All PTs should aspire to be like him, constantly growing as fitness professional.

  4. I agree that a personal trainer is needed for some people because a lot of individuals do not have the drive to push themselves to work out or push themselves. Also a personal trainer is a qualified individual who can give you certain exercises and movements to work on certain aspect you have or want to get fit. Also I agree with you when you stated that a personal trainer can also help you out mentally because most of the time that is the most difficult part because the first step is the hardest, and when you want to quit on yourself that personal trainer is there to push you through it and to that point you never thought you could reach. Also I think that personal trainers do not get enough credit because like you stated in this blog a personal trainer has to wear multiple hats like a counselor, body builder, and consultant.

  5. Just learning the exercises and proper form is an education in itself. I know that my personal trainer (who is Donny Hill) has helped me learn the proper way to do things and why I need to do what I do. Exercising without injury is always a plus. Signing on with a personal trainer was the best decision I made in my journey to lose weight and work on myself to live a much healthier life ... one without medication. I did not know the science of it all, so I turned to an expert. And, yes, I am a much happier person when I drag myself to the gym and sweat a little. There is definitely a synergy between the mind and body when you learn to work-out properly. It is also beneficial to have someone with knowledge when I have a question about certain aspects of my work-out routine. There are times when modifications need to be made. I have learned to exercise 'smarter'.

  6. Having a personal trainer is definetly one of the best decisions i have ever made. I was getting bored and feeling unsatisfied with my workouts. My form was lacking in all areas and i would forget to breath correctly during my workout. I completly agree that not only does a trainer help you physically but emptionally, having someone there to spot you and encourage you makes you want to lift more and longer.

  7. I couldn't agree more with this blog. My mother started a class in my hometown that is ran by a personal trainer and she has so much more drive and determination to work out and during her workouts. Some people work better when they have someone their guiding them and pushing them. My mom is bettering her life and getting in shape and I am very thankful cause I get to have her around longer :)

  9. I agree completely with this article. Most people cant make themselves go to the gym and work out, but a personal trainer can help those people realize that it is what's best for them. People also think that they cant do certain exercises and a personal trainer can help them also to realize that yes they can if they put their mind to it. A personal trainer can really help people in many aspects of their lives besides just in the fitness world.

  10. I agree! Personal trainers are worth the money. The average person doesn't know where to start when they begin working out. That's where a personal trainer would be helpful. Also, if someone is struck in a rut and they can't figure out exercises to get them out of it.

  11. I love this one! I cant ever work out alone. I never feel motivated enough. A personal trainer can help you stay motivated to reach your goals. Its also a good thing when you don't know what your doing when your at the gym alone. Definitely worth the money. =)

  12. I would love to have a personal trainer to keep me on track tell me a good workout plan and give me a diet plan but Im a broke college student. How much would a personal trainer at Tarleton cost me. I really do feel like a need a motivator because sometimes I feel like I cant do it on my own or keep myself accountable. It would help if I had help from a professional
