Connecting to the World: The Power of Blogs in Education

Did You Know?  The Kinesiology & Sport Review was established in August 2012 by the Kinesiology faculty at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas.  In a 17-month period, the Kinesiology & Sport Review has published 349 posts by 75 individual undergraduate and graduate students.  Comments to various posts have been recorded 772 times since the launch of the Review.

World-Wide Impact.  The Kinesiology & Sport Review has received more than 46,000 views from readers in 96 countries around the world, averaging over 2,700 views per month.  The global impact of posting credible content related to Kinesiology, Fitness, Recreation, and Athletics is a powerful rationale for continuing to publish the Review.

A geographical analysis revealed that individuals in 44.4% of the countries worldwide have read articles published on the Review.  A regional breakdown indicates that viewership is widespread and diverse with representation from 58% of the total countries in Asia, 18% of the African countries, 50% of Caribbean countries, 71% of European countries, 43% of the Middle East, 75% of North American countries, 15% of the Pacific Islands, and 61% of countries in South America.

Top 10 Countries.  Although viewers from 96 countries around the world have read posts on the Review, the following countries have a loyal audience who consistently read and comment:
