Move over Lebron!

Has King James finally been dethrone from being the best player in the NBA? Some would say it is too early considering all of the greatness Lebron James has displayed over the years. But others, a lot of others, would object quickly due to the tear that the sharp-shooter, Stephen Curry has been on. After winning MVP last year and beating Lebron James’ Cavaliers in the NBA finals, that was still not enough for Curry to obtain the title as being the best player from King James.
NBA fans, analysts, and coaches around the league was not all the way convinced on Curry being the best player. Kenny Smith, NBA analyst was asked two years ago how long can Curry shoot like this. His answer went as follows. “He never not shot like this, if you go back to high school he did the same thing, college, he did the same thing and now he is doing it on a bigger scale”. Some thought he would not be able to keep his style of play up and eventually he will soon cool off. Well, that has not been the case for Curry this year.

“Move over, Lebron James; you are no longer the best player on the planet”. -Cook Gaines1. The torch has been officially passed but not to the player that everybody thought was next to compete with the King as being the best player on the planet. Kevin Durant was the frontrunner of being the player that was considered to take the title of best player since he won MVP of the NBA in 2015. After missing the next season due to injury, Durant was no longer in the race and he quickly fell off everybody’s radar.
Curry, son of sharpshooter Dell Curry has quickly taken the torch and from the looks of it, he doesn’t plan on giving it back anytime soon. Barely being recruited to any big time college programs after high school, he did not let that stop him and used this as motivation to work harder. With the combination being quick and fast, Curry is a defender’s nightmare. He is now on pace to winning MVP for the second time in a row and his team is the best team in the NBA2. Lebron who?

  1. It will be must watch TV if the Cavs and Warriors have a rematch in the Finals. I do think all this talk of LeBron no longer being the best player is a bit premature, but Curry is certainly in the conversation with him.

  2. Curry is a machine, an unstoppable machine. Both James and Curry are great players not doubt but when it's all said and done, I believe Curry will be the best overall player. his playing style is just different and out of this world! Just watch him.
