March Madness
Here it goes blog followers, and here we are right smack in the middle of the month of March. Along with the month of March, of course, marks the NCAA College Basketball’s Men’s and Women’s March Madness Tournament. Millions of you have spent weeks prior to March, watching, observing, analyzing, tracking and keeping up with the who’s who and who’s hot in pertaining to the tournament and bracket play. Yet, I have not…
I, just as any sports fanatic, enjoy March Madness and the opportunity in which the world and the sport of college basketball join together for an entire month united to one another. Yet, you won’t find the class registered under Bracketology within my course work this spring. For, with keeping up and staying tuned to ESPN, I have found there is no secure pick within this year’s tournament. There have been too many times within this season where the number one seed has fallen from rank within the very next week. To my count, six times alone in the middle of the month of February there was a new number one ranked team in NCAA College Men’s Basketball.1
And the tournament this year has proven my stand upon the topic correct. We have already seen in the beginning days of the tournament number 11 seed Wichita State defeat number 6 seed Arizona, number 12 seed Yale defeat number 5 seed Baylor, number 11 seed Northern Iowa defeat number 6 seed Texas, number seed 15 Middle Tennessee defeat number 2 seed Michigan State, and number 12 seed Arkansas-Little Rock defeat number 5 seed Purdue 2; all of which took place in the first round of the NCAA tournament alone. If you’re brackets were still above .500 after the first round of this year’s March Madness Tournament, kudos to you.
