My name is Victoria Mamach and I have been Personal Training for a little under a year. I graduated Tarleton State University with my Undergraduate in Kinesiology emphasis on Fitness Management in December 2015. During my undergraduate work I did an internship at the Laboratory for Wellness and Motor Behavior run by Dr. Priest. That is where I got my first taste of training and making workout plans. Most of those workout plans were functional movement since most the clients were stroke survivors and clients in wheelchairs. I am currently in the process of getting my Masters degree in Kinesiology and I should graduate August 2017. I am a certified personal trainer through NASM, corrective exercise specialist through NASM, and sports nutrition certified through ISSA. I have previously worked as a personal trainer at Anytime Fitness in Cleburne, Texas Where I had clients that ranged from 20 years of age to 71. I currently work at Momentum Fitness in Arlington, Texas where I have a more closer in range of age of clients so it has really helped me specialize workouts and create a nitich that I excel in. The ages of my clients now are 21 to 33. The area that I excel most in is building lean muscle mass and burning fat.
I have always been interested in fitness and staying active, played club volleyball all throughout high school. Throughout college I would play intramurals and go to the recreation center but it was not until my junior year of college that I really started researching different training styles. I would see people in the gym doing the same exercises with different grips and I wondered why people would switch it up. I started to research and learn the importance of each exercise and what muscles they triggered.
My next 9 blogs are going to cover the importance of different exercises, correct form for each, and how simply changing your grip or your stance can hit different parts of that muscle or changing the tempo of the workout can create better results.
Hey Victoria! I loved reading a little bit about you and what you are currently doing while you work on your Masters. Can't wait to see what your next 9 blogs will be about!
